Role Type: Sessional 
Availablity: 4 days a week preferred (days to be discussed) 
Remuneration:  $ 90.07 per hour (dependent on qualifications) 

 

About The Role: 

 As a Sessional Visual Arts and Cultural Arts Teacher, you’ll be teaching adults in a correctional facility, guiding them through the world of visual arts and helping them develop practical skills and creative confidence for the industry. You will:  

  • Deliver training that meets industry standards and safety regulations
  • Help learners build practical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and visual communication techniques
  • Keep accurate student records, assessments, and compliance documents
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment for all learners
  • Collaborate with a team dedicated to education and vocational rehabilitation 

 

We are excited about you because you have: 

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Qualified and/or Experienced Artist
  • Experience collaborating with or teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (preferred)
  • Experience delivering training in adult education or vocational settings (beneficial)
  • Effective communication skills for working in correctional settings
  • Computer proficiency
  • Compliance paperwork management
  • Ability to teach independently
  • Commitment to safety, inclusion, and learner success.
