About The Role:

As a VET Literacy and Numeracy Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in helping students gain essential literacy, numeracy and digital skills, setting them up for success in their vocational studies and future careers. Working closely with vocational teaching teams, you will design and deliver tailored learning experiences that align with students’ industry pathways.

This is a hands-on role where you will engage students in meaningful, practical learning—building their confidence in applying literacy and numeracy in real-world scenarios.

 

Responsibilities -

  • Develop and deliver engaging, customised learning experiences that support students’ literacy and numeracy development
  • Work collaboratively with vocational teaching staff to embed literacy and numeracy into industry-specific learning programs
  • Identify and support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring no one is left behind
  • Use innovative teaching methods, including digital tools and interactive learning strategies
  • Monitor student progress and provide tailored feedback to help them reach their learning goals
  • Ensure compliance with national VET quality standards and BKI policies.


About you -

You will bring:

  • TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set (or equivalent) or TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice (and its equivalent TAE70111); or Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education,) or higher.
  • Completed Certificate IV in Training and Assessment OR willing to work towards obtaining a TAE qualification
  • Experience in teaching literacy and numeracy, ideally in a vocational education setting
  • Ability to integrate digital learning tools into lesson delivery
