The Automotive Teacher – Automotive Electric Technology plays a key role in delivering high-quality vocational education, training, and competency-based assessments, and industry-relevant training in automotive electrical systems and emerging EV technologies. The successful incumbent is required teach across various settings—workshops, classrooms, online platforms, and industry environments—ensuring learners develop skills aligned with current and future industry standards in automotive electrification and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging learning programs for electric vehicle and automotive electrical technology courses.
• Create authentic, hands-on learning experiences reflecting current industry practices.
• Customize training packages to meet the needs of students and industry partners.
• Facilitate practical workshop training with strict adherence to safety standards.
• Support diverse student learning needs, including language, literacy, and numeracy requirements.
• Develop valid, reliable assessment tools aligned with industry standards.
• Assess student competence across various automotive electrical contexts.
• Participate in moderation and validation of assessment methods.
• Maintain industry currency through ongoing professional development.
• Build collaborative relationships with automotive industry partners and employers.
• Promote BKI's automotive and EV training programs to prospective students.
• Contribute to workforce development strategies aligned with technological advancements.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) preferred
• Demonstrated industry experience in automotive electrical technology and systems
• Experience with electric vehicle technology and diagnostics – AND/OR
• A strong understanding of contemporary automotive electrical systems
• Excellent communication and student engagement skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
