The Opportunity

This is a part-time, permanent opportunity (0.6 FTE) for an experienced Instructional Designer who wants flexibility, purpose and impact.

You’ll play a key role in shaping engaging, high-quality learning experiences used across BKI, working closely with teachers as subject matter experts. The role focuses on translating curriculum requirements into meaningful, learner‑centred courseware that supports strong outcomes for students and industry.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop engaging, compliant courseware aligned to training packages
  • Build and manage learning content within Moodle LMS, ensuring usability and quality
  • Collaborate with teachers, delivery teams and subject matter experts across campuses
  • Review, adapt and improve existing learning and assessment materials
  • Ensure course design meets quality, copyright and compliance requirements
  • Apply contemporary instructional design principles that balance flexibility and consistency
  • Incorporate innovative practices that enhance learner experience and outcomes
  • Develop strong working relationships that support BKI’s strategic priorities

 

What You'll Bring

You’re an Instructional Designer who understands both learning design and the realities of delivery environments. You’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience in instructional or product design within education or a similar sector
  • Strong proficiency using Moodle as a learning management system
  • Sound knowledge of VET training packages and compliance obligations
  • A tertiary qualification in Instructional Design or a learning-related discipline, or significant experience in an Instructional Design role within the VET sector
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) - essential
  • Diploma of VET or Training Design & Development (preferred)
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a hybrid environment
