About The Role:

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing data team and play a pivotal role in advancing our Central Data Platform.

 

Reporting to the Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop and optimise scalable data models and pipelines that deliver trusted, high-quality data for reporting, business intelligence and advanced analytics. Working closely with business stakeholders, ICT teams and data professionals, you will help transform complex data into valuable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing conceptual, logical and physical data models aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements
  • Building, maintaining and optimising cloud-based data pipelines and data platforms using modern engineering practices
  • Collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure and high-quality data solutions that support reporting, analytics and decision-making

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes or cloud-based data platforms
  • Strong technical skills across SQL, Python and modern data engineering tools such as dbt, Apache Spark, Airflow or similar technologies
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments, with Azure experience highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of data modelling methodologies, database design and data warehousing concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within agile, cross-functional teams
  • Experience within the education sector is desirable but not essential
