About The Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for an Assessment Developer to join the Vocational Education & Training (VET) team within VETASSESS. This newly created role supports assessors by developing and maintaining high-quality, compliant assessment tools across a broad range of trades.
You will partner with a VET Staff, including an Instructional Designer and subject matter experts to ensure tools meet ASQA requirements, Training Packages and Trades Recognition Australia’s (TRA) requirements for TSS/OSAP skills assessments and other VET programs. Additionally, there will responsibility to develop RPL and trade-based assessments, and support ongoing review and continuous improvement. Some exposure to Moodle and digital assessment environments may be included.
Key aspects:
- Develop, review and maintain VET assessment tools in line with training packages AQF standards and VET Quality Framework
- Support assessors by ensuring tools are clear, practical, and fit for purpose
- Contribute to validation, moderation and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate with instructional design, compliance and assessment stakeholders

- Sound understanding of Australian vocational qualification frameworks inclusing Training Packages and Standards for RTOs 2025
- Demonstrated experience developing or maintaining assessment tools in a VET context
- Strong knowledge of the Australian VET system, AQF and regulatory frameworks
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (highly preferred)
- Experience unpacking training packages and developing assessment documentation
