Remuneration: From $80,812 salary plus superannuation
About The Role:
We are seeking a Technical Simulation Officer – Nursing and Health to support the delivery of high-quality nursing and healthcare simulation experiences across our teaching environments.
Based primarily at our Essendon campus, this hands-on role is responsible for preparing and maintaining simulation laboratories, ensuring equipment is operational and classroom-ready, managing consumables and supporting teaching teams to deliver engaging practical learning experiences.
Working closely with teachers and department staff, you will coordinate equipment setup, stock management, purchasing activities and ongoing maintenance of simulation resources. You will also play an important role in ensuring simulation environments remain safe, organised and aligned with teaching requirements across campuses.
This role is ideal for someone with a healthcare background who enjoys combining technical problem-solving, organisation and customer service to support student learning outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing simulation laboratories and equipment for classes
- Maintaining, testing and troubleshooting simulation equipment
- Managing consumables, inventory and stocktake activities
- Raising purchase orders and coordinating ordering requirements
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of health simulation environments
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring equipment is stored safely and correctly
- Liaising with teachers and stakeholders to meet program requirements
- Travelling between campuses as required to support simulation activities
The role is primarily campus-based, working Monday to Friday in line with teaching operations. Limited flexibility may be available during term breaks for project work, professional development and planning activities.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience within healthcare, nursing, simulation, education or a related environment
- Understanding of healthcare practices, equipment and clinical terminology
- Demonstrated experience maintaining equipment, resources or technical environments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage inventory, stock and competing priorities
- Experience raising purchase orders and coordinating supplies or consumables
- Well-developed troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive and customer-focused approach to supporting staff and students
Desirable:
- Experience supporting simulation-based education or clinical skills training
- Nursing, health services or allied health experience
- Experience working with specialised clinical or simulation equipment
