About The Role:
As a Technical Simulation Officer – Horticulture, you’ll play a vital role in supporting hands-on horticulture training. Working closely with educators and students, you’ll help prepare practical learning activities, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and engaging environment across indoor and outdoor settings.
This part-time position (0.5 FTE) 2.5 days per week, offers a unique blend of technical work, student interaction, and outdoor activity—perfect for someone passionate about horticulture and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain horticulture tools and equipment for practical learning spaces
- Support hands‑on training activities across horticulture, landscaping, and conservation
- Maintain safe, organised, and engaging environments for students
- Manage supplies, ordering, record‑keeping, and general technical support tasks
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver high‑quality practical sessions
- Create and design new spaces in our onsite orchard and nursery whilst maintaining current gardens

- Practical experience in horticulture, landscaping, parks and gardens, or agriculture.
- A passion for working outdoors and contributing to hands-on learning experiences.
- Relevant licences and qualifications (desirable).
- Good technical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
