Role: Teacher - Education Support
Location: Broadmeadows
Role Type: Full-Time Ongoing
Remuneration: From $84,618 (VET qual dependent) (plus 12% Superannuation)
About The Role:
As a School Based Education Support Teacher, you will deliver engaging, high‑quality vocational education and training to students undertaking nationally recognised School Based Education Support qualifications through TAFE. This role focuses on off-campus delivery for trainees and workplace-based students, supporting students to develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to work effectively in school settings.
You will plan, deliver and assess training in line with relevant training packages and VET Quality Standards, while creating inclusive, supportive and culturally responsive learning experiences. Working collaboratively with Program Leads and fellow teachers within the Health and Community Centre of Excellence, you will contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives and strong student outcomes.
This role is ideal for an experienced education support and is passionate about preparing students for meaningful careers supporting children and young people in schools.
We are excited about you because you have:
- Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support (or equivalent) or higher
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willing to enrol
- Current Industry experience in School Based Education Support (ESW, LSO, PSO)
- Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed
Experience and Knowledge:
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality traineeship training and assessment in Education Support through workplace‑based learning models
- Conduct regular off‑campus visits to trainees in school settings to support skill development, engagement and progression
- Observe and assess trainee practice in line with Education Support training packages, regulatory requirements and workplace expectations
- Provide coaching, feedback and guidance to trainees to support their professional growth and confidence in the workplace
- Support employers, and supervising staff to understand training requirements and create positive learning environments for trainees
- Manage your own schedule of student visits, ensuring consistent contact, documentation and follow‑up
- Monitor trainee progress, attendance and wellbeing, identifying and escalating risks where required
- Maintain accurate and compliant training and assessment records in line with VET Quality Standards and organisational requirements
- Attend on‑campus meetings, training and planning sessions with Program Leads and teaching colleagues (approximately one day per week)
- Build strong relationships with schools to support sustainable, high‑quality traineeship outcomes
