Role: Teacher - Education Support
Location: Broadmeadows
Role Type: Full-Time Ongoing
Remuneration: $83,367 - $109,407 (pro-rata) (plus 12% Superannuation)

 

About The Role: 
As a School Based Education Support Teacher, you will deliver engaging, high‑quality vocational education and training to students undertaking nationally recognised School Based Education Support qualifications at TAFE. This role focuses on classroom‑based and simulated learning environments, supporting students to develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to work effectively in school settings.

 

You will plan, deliver and assess training in line with relevant training packages and VET Quality Standards, while creating inclusive, supportive and culturally responsive learning experiences. Working collaboratively with Program Leads and fellow teachers within the Health and Community Centre of Excellence, you will contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives and strong student outcomes.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced education support professional who enjoys teaching in a structured classroom environment, values collaboration, and is passionate about preparing students for meaningful careers supporting children and young people in schools.

 

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support (or equivalent) or higher
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willing to enroll
  • Current Industry experience in School Based Education Support (ESW, LSO, PSO)
  • Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed

 

Experience and Knowledge:

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality classroom‑based teaching and assessment in School Based Education Support
  • Facilitate learning using a range of delivery methods, including face‑to‑face, simulated practice and blended learning
  • Assess student competence in line with training package requirements, assessment standards and VET Quality Frameworks
  • Develop lesson plans, learning resources and assessment tools aligned to curriculum and industry expectations
  • Provide academic guidance, feedback and pastoral support to promote student progression, engagement and retention
  • Identify language, literacy and numeracy needs and implement appropriate support strategies
  • Monitor student performance, attendance and wellbeing, escalating risks and concerns where required
  • Maintain accurate, compliant training and assessment records using digital systems
  • Participate in team meetings, moderation, professional development and program planning activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain strong connections to current industry practice
