BKI is seeking a passionate Teacher – Individual Support to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) team at to teach prospective healthcare professionals and inspire the next generation!
You will be working in ultra-modern facilities, equipped with simulated labs and specialist equipment to assess future healthcare professionals. Our staff bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to educate and help our students grow.

About The Role:
Join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence team as a Teacher - Individual Support and help prepare the next generation of aged care and disability support professionals. Based at our Broadmeadows campus, you will deliver engaging training across the Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV Ageing Support and Certificate IV Disability Support.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing hybrid delivery model that combines face-to-face, online, and blended learning. You will deliver both daytime and evening classes, create engaging learning experiences, and support students to develop the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence required to succeed in the care sector.
Working alongside experienced educators and industry professionals, you will play a key role in shaping student outcomes and building a flexible, contemporary learning experience. The role includes delivering training to a diverse range of learner cohorts, including work-based learners and traineeships, while supporting strong industry connections and workplace outcomes.
As part of a collaborative teaching team, you will work closely with colleagues across all Kangan Institute campuses, contributing to shared resources, best-practice teaching approaches, and consistent student experiences. There may also be opportunities to deliver training and support learners across partner locations in Melbourne and Bendigo, providing variety and exposure to different learning environments and communities.
We are excited about you because you have:
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or actively working towards completion (essential)
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) (essential)
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support AND Certificate IV in Disability Support (desirable)
Experience and Knowledge:
- Current industry experience in aged care, disability support, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to support learners to develop practical, industry-relevant skills and knowledge
- Understanding of contemporary aged care and disability support practices, including person-centred approaches
- Ability to deliver engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, online and blended learning environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and industry stakeholders
- Ability to identify and support language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) needs within a learner cohort
- Sound digital literacy skills and confidence using technology to facilitate learning, communicate, collaborate and undertake administrative tasks
- A commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments that support diverse student needs and outcomes
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and learner needs
