Role Type: Full-time, ongoing

Remuneration: $83,367 - $95,077 salary (qualification dependant)

About the Role

As a Traineeships and Work‑Based Learning Teacher (Early Childhood Education and Care), you will support trainees completing nationally recognised ECEC qualifications while employed in early learning services. You will play a key role in guiding trainees through their workplace‑based learning journey, ensuring high‑quality training delivery, compliance, and strong outcomes for both learners and employers.

This is a predominantly off‑campus role, focused on visiting trainees in early childhood settings to provide coaching, observation, assessment and pastoral support. You will work closely with trainees, centre directors, room leaders and the Program Lead to ensure training plans are followed and learning is embedded in day‑to‑day practice.

You will manage your own calendar of workplace visits while maintaining strong connections with the broader teaching team through regular on‑campus meetings, training and professional development (approximately one day per week).

This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who is passionate about mentoring others, enjoys working autonomously, and is committed to developing the future ECEC workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality traineeship training and assessment in Early Childhood Education and Care through workplace‑based learning models
  • Conduct regular off‑campus visits to trainees in early learning services to support skill development, engagement and progression
  • Observe and assess trainee practice in line with ECEC training packages, regulatory requirements and workplace expectations
  • Provide coaching, feedback and guidance to trainees to support their professional growth and confidence in the workplace
  • Support employers, centre directors and supervisors to understand training requirements and create positive learning environments for trainees
  • Manage your own schedule of student visits, ensuring consistent contact, documentation and follow‑up
  • Monitor trainee progress, attendance and wellbeing, identifying and escalating risks where required
  • Maintain accurate and compliant training and assessment records in line with VET Quality Standards and organisational requirements
  • Attend on‑campus meetings, training and planning sessions with Program Leads and teaching colleagues (approximately one day per week)
  • Build strong relationships with early childhood services to support sustainable, high‑quality traineeship outcomes

We’re excited about you because you have:

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willing to enrol)
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher (bachelor's in early childhood education care)

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care, including a strong understanding of sector practices and regulatory requirements
  • Experience delivering or supporting traineeships and/or work‑based learning programs, ideally within ECEC
  • Sound knowledge of workplace assessment practices and coaching learners in employment‑based settings
  • Experience supporting trainees through placements, including progress monitoring and pastoral support
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to independently manage a calendar of off‑campus workplace visits
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with trainees, employers and internal stakeholders
  • Understanding of VET compliance requirements, evidence collection and student contact obligations
  • Current Victorian driver's licence and flexibility to travel between sites
  • Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance

We can offer you:

  • Attractive work-life balance and flexible work options
  • Professional development programs
  • Fitness Passport Program with exclusive access for you and your family to 230+ locations Australia wide
  • Counselling support (EAP) and Health & Wellbeing initiatives throughout the year
  • Meaningful work that drives positive social impact
