BKI is seeking a Community Service teacher with a specific background in Alcohol and Other Drugs to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) Department ai Broadmeadows campus to teach and inspire the next generation!
You will be working in ultra-modern facilities, equipped with simulated labs to train professionals within the community sector. Our staff bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to educate and help our students grow.

About The Role:
It is the vision of BKI to be acknowledged as a leading educator and trainer in work and life skills, making a real difference for students and industry across the communities we serve. The key purpose of this role is to deliver quality vocational education and training and conduct competency-based assessment in specified program(s) in a range of settings including classroom, workplace and online environments to support this vision.
We are excited about you because you have:
- Certificate IV or Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Diploma in Community Service
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or updated TAE
- Relevant industry experience working in the alcohol and other drugs sector essential
- Relevant industry experience working across the Community Sector essential
- You will be expected to teach units across the Community Service portfolio, including Youth Work, Family Violence, Mental Health.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Possess high-level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies in this area, in particular laws affecting clients, the range of services available to them and health issues related to alcohol and drugs use and misuse.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel
- Have an understanding of cultural sensitivity, and respects and values difference
- Can identify language, literacy and numeracy issues
- Can adapt communication style to suit audience and context
- Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders
- Understands the concepts and practices underpinning digital and blended learning and applies as a supplement to the learning program
- Ability to use digital learning for administrative functions to communciate, collaborate and for presentations
- Provision (and maintenace) of current driver's licence where relevant
