About The Role:

Are you ready to shape the future of education and technology? Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Applications & Data Solutions Analyst to join our innovative Customer Experience & Technology team.

The role combines hands-on Azure development and integration with solution analysis and platform administration across the full lifecycle—from understanding business problems and shaping technical solutions to building and deploying them on Azure, while keeping platforms secure, governed, and well-documented.

The successful applicant will work across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Integration Services, Ready Student, SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft Entra ID and on-premises Active Directory, Salesforce, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other Enterprise Applications. This senior position entails technical ownership, mentoring less experienced team members, and working directly with vendors and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business units to elicit requirements, analyse current-state processes, and translate needs into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  • Produce solution designs, integration specifications, data mappings, and supporting documentation, contributing to architectural decisions that align with Institute security, privacy, and supportability standards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, services, and automation on Microsoft Azure.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using agreed coding standards, source control, and peer review practices.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and apply infrastructure-as-code practices such as Bicep or Terraform.
  • Develop, deploy, and support integrations using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Design and publish secure, resilient, observable, and well-documented APIs and event-driven integrations, with appropriate monitoring, alerting, retry, and error-handling.
  • Administer SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure data services, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, patching, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor platform usage and cost, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce spend.

We are excited about you because you have:

  • 5+ years’ experience with strong development skills in C#/.NET, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript, together with strong SQL and T-SQL skills.
  • Working fluency with PowerShell or Bash, and confidence using YAML, JSON, and XML for automation, pipelines, APIs, and message payloads.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Familiarity with Azure App Service, Container Apps, Key Vault, managed identities, Storage, and Azure Monitor/Application Insights.
  • Experience with API security patterns, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Entra ID app registrations.
  • Practical experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Relevant degree with postgraduate qualifications; ITIL certification is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

We can offer you:

  • Attractive work-life balance and flexible work options
  • Free onsite parking for most campuses
  • Professional development programs
  • Fitness Passport Program with exclusive access for you and your family to 230+ locations Australia wide
  • Counselling support (EAP) and Health & Wellbeing initiatives throughout the year
  • Meaningful work that drives positive social impact
  • The opportunity to build a career in a world leading vocational education and training sector, with diverse and emerging career opportunities across Australia.

The Essential Paperwork:

Successful applicants will be required to provide

  • Working with Children Clearance (WWCC)
  • Current police check
  • Certified right to work documentation
  • Certified copies of your qualifications and transcripts
