About The Role:
As a Research Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting academic and research staff in the delivery of a dynamic research project within a collaborative TAFE environment. Based at the Broadmeadows Campus, you’ll be involved in designing, planning, and executing research project, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analysing data, and preparing reports and presentations for a range of stakeholders. You’ll also coordinate meetings with students and employers, analyse data, and contribute to the achievement of project milestones, ensuring adherence to ethical and procedural standards.
Initially, you’ll be part of a pilot within individual support, with the potential for the project to roll out across BKI. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, including students and employers, and be responsible for maintaining accurate research records and supporting the ethical review process. The position offers flexibility, with hours that may vary according to operational requirements, and the opportunity to make a real impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of new competency certification tools for both employers and candidates.
We are excited about you because you have:
- A relevant vocational qualification at AQF Level 9 or above (e.g., Masters degree) in a discipline related to the research project.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research, including data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency with research software packages (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, R, Excel) and digital tools preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft reports and present data effectively.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of research integrity.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with ethical standards and research governance relevant to the Australian context.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project needs.
- The right to work in Australia, and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
