Remuneration: From $123k plus superannuation
About The Role:
As Property and Asset Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting Bendigo Kangan Institute's property portfolio, commercial leasing activities and strategic asset management initiatives. This is an exciting fixed-term opportunity through to June 2027 covering parental leave, offering the chance to step straight into a diverse and visible role within a small, high-performing team.
Working within the Assets and Commercial team, you'll take ownership of lease administration, stakeholder engagement and property-related activities while contributing to strategic asset and commercial initiatives across BKI.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to commercial leasing, property management, asset management, property compliance, space planning and business improvement initiatives across a diverse multi-campus portfolio. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, landlords, tenants, government agencies and service providers to ensure property-related activities are delivered effectively and in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
Unlike traditional property roles, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to both strategic projects and day-to-day operations, providing broad exposure across BKI's property, asset and commercial functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing commercial lease agreements and lease administration activities
- Acting as a key contact for landlords, tenants, agents and internal stakeholders
- Coordinating lease renewals, contractual obligations, invoicing and compliance requirements
- Supporting space management, property projects and business case development
- Maintaining property records and responding to property-related enquiries
- Liaising with government agencies and statutory authorities on property matters
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working
- Providing advice and support across a broad range of property and commercial activities.
About You
- You're a proactive and organised property, facilities or asset management professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and taking ownership of your work.
- You bring a strong customer focus, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and can confidently communicate with everyone from operational teams through to senior leaders and external partners.
- Most importantly, you're accountable, adaptable and willing to learn. While property experience is highly regarded, we're equally interested in candidates who demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and a genuine desire to develop their expertise.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in property, asset management, facilities management, commercial operations or a related field
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience interpreting and administering contracts, agreements or compliance obligations
- Highly developed organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Highly Regarded
- Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice (Agent's Representative)
- Qualifications in property, asset management, facilities management, business or a related discipline
- Experience managing commercial property leases or tenancy arrangements
- Understanding of property legislation, compliance requirements and lease obligations
- Knowledge of property planning, zoning or government property frameworks
- Experience working within government, education, infrastructure or similarly complex organisations.
