Role: Early Childhood Education and Care Trainer – Classroom-Based
Location: Broadmeadows (on-campus delivery)
Role Type: Full-time, ongoing
Remuneration: $83,367 – $95,077 salary (qualification dependant)
About the Role
As a Classroom-Based Early Childhood Education and Care Trainer, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching to students undertaking nationally recognised ECEC qualifications at TAFE. This role is focused on on-campus classroom and simulated learning environments, supporting students to build strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills aligned to current sector practice.
You will plan, deliver and assess training in line with ECEC training packages and regulatory requirements, while creating inclusive and supportive learning experiences. Working closely with Program Leads and fellow teachers, you will contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement and positive student outcomes.
This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who enjoys training in a classroom setting, values collaboration, and is passionate about preparing students for successful careers in the ECEC sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality classroom-based teaching and assessment in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Facilitate learning using a range of delivery methods, including face-to-face, simulated practice and blended learning
- Assess student competence in line with ECEC training packages, regulatory standards and assessment requirements
- Develop lesson plans, learning resources and assessment tools aligned to curriculum and industry needs
- Provide academic guidance, feedback and pastoral support to support student progression and retention
- Monitor student performance, attendance and wellbeing, escalating risks where required
- Maintain accurate and compliant training and assessment records in line with VET Quality Standards
- Participate in on-campus meetings, moderation, professional development and program planning activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain strong connections with industry practice

Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or willingness to enrol
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher (Bachelor of Early Childhood Education preferred)
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care, with strong knowledge of sector practices and regulations
- Experience teaching, training or mentoring learners in an educational or workplace setting (VET or similar desirable)
- Sound understanding of competency-based assessment and student-centred learning
- Strong classroom facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team
- Understanding of VET compliance requirements and quality standards
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance
