Role Type: Full-time, ongoing
Remuneration: $143,497.75 salary per annum plus 12% superannuation

About the role:
As Department Manager – Nursing and Allied Health, you will champion excellence in vocational education, overseeing strategic direction, operational management, and continuous improvement of the department. You’ll work closely with industry partners to ensure our courses meet real-world needs, and lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality education that exceeds regulatory and quality standards.
As Department Manager Nursing and Allied Health, you’ll grow the Education Centre’s profile and market position, working closely with industry to ensure our courses meet real-world needs. You’ll lead and develop a team of professionals, delivering education that exceeds quality standards and supports student success. Your focus will be on strategic planning, operational excellence, and building strong industry relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the coordination, design, development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of vocational education and training programmes
- Supervise and develop a team of teaching staff, ensuring performance outcomes and professional growth
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, Group Training Organisations, and sector stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with VET Quality Standards, attendance monitoring, and monthly student–teacher contact requirements
- Oversee program quality through workplace assessment, student progress monitoring, and audit management
- Lead consultation with stakeholders to design holistic assessment approaches and implement innovative practices
- Manage budgets and commercial targets, and contribute to new product development and consultancy work
- Promote team/cluster programs and services to relevant clients and maintain effective industry contacts
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met and support staff and student wellbeing
We are excited about you because you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher relevant nursing qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse accreditation via AHPRA
- Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50111) or equivalent (desirable)
- Substantial experience in management and supervision of staff within the health or nursing sector
- Strong ability to build and maintain industry partnerships and relationships
- Leadership experience managing teams and driving performance outcomes
- Familiarity with ANMAC and AHPRA accreditation and reporting requirements
- Sound knowledge of the VET system, relevant VET qualifications, and industry sectors
- Current Victorian driver’s licence and flexibility to travel between sites
