Role Type: Part time fixed term (0.6 FTE, until December 2025) 
Days: preferably Wednesday, Thursday and flexibility with one other day 
Remuneration: $ 77,201.60 inclusive of 12% super 

 
About The Role:  

As an AMEP Pathways Counsellor, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to guide newly arrived migrant as they navigate their educational and settlement journey in Australia within the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).  

In this client-focused role, you’ll help students develop personalized educational pathways and connect them with a range of essential services. You’ll also become part of a collaborative, purpose-driven team culture where colleagues support one another and celebrate shared successes. 

(The role is internally referred as Foundations Counsellor)

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Guide newly arrived migrants in developing tailored education pathways
  • Address wide range of queries from students 
  • Support fellow counsellors, operations officers and teachers 
  • Promote services in classrooms and collaborate with local settlement and community providers
  • Help clients with translation services 

 

 We are excited about you because you have: 

  • Strong knowledge of local settlement services and vocational education pathways
  • Experience working with migrants and humanitarian entrants from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal, advocacy, and organisational skills
  • A degree or extensive experience in community services or vocational counselling
  • Proficiency in a non-English language is a plus
