About The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Hospitality Technician to support the delivery and day to day running of hospitality, cookery, bakery and food processing training. This role can provide support across any Food and Land courses to ensure the smooth operation of learning environments.
This hands-on role involves working closely with the teaching team and students to maintain industry-standard facilities, preparation for classes and events, uphold safety and hygiene standards, ordering of stock, purchase orders and Safety registers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and pack down for hospitality practical classes including kitchen, barista, and front-of-house operations
- Follow and maintain processes and procedures for scheduling the repair and maintenance of equipment to enable preventative work with minimal disruption to the learning area while remaining complaint with OH&S requirements
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of equipment and supplies ensuring ease of use
- Source quotes, order and maintain stock levels of food and consumables, completing regular stocktake and stock rotation practices to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of training kitchens, bars, and service areas
- Uphold food safety and workplace health and safety protocols

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, or hospitality environment
- Understanding of food safety standards and OH&S procedures
- A highly organised approach with the ability to multi task
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, educational setting
- Flexibility to support both front-of-house and kitchen operations
- Proficiency with technology, including inventory and ordering management systems and the MS Office suite
- Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies are desirable
