About The Role:
We are looking for a committed and collaborative Work Education Teacher to join the Youth and Work Education team at the Bendigo city campus as a trainer and assessor. In this role, you will support students with neuro diverse needs to develop confidence, communication skills, and practical knowledge to prepare them for greater independence and employment.
You’ll deliver programs including Work Education, Transition Education, and Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy, using hands-on activities like cooking, travel training, and community excursions to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. You’ll be part of a highly supportive team that shares knowledge openly and works cohesively to support student success.
The programs you will teach and assess are a critical part of Bendigo Kangan Institute’s offering. They provide a pathway into the workforce for some students and for others help develop literacy, numeracy and community skills. Accordingly, an Inclusive Education teaching qualification would be beneficial in the role, although this is not essential.
We are excited about you because you have:
- Must have: Previous experience in teaching numeracy and literacy to neuro-diverse students
- A completed or currently studying Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- An Inclusive Education qualification (desirable) or demonstrated experience teaching and assessing students with neuro diversity
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive team
- Strong interpersonal skills and a student-centred approach
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and their families
