About The Role:

BKI is seeking an experienced Community Services Teacher to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) team at our Bendigo City Campus to teach and inspire the next generation! Our staff bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to educate and help our students grow.

 

Our Health and Community Centre of Excellence delivers high quality health and community training and gives teachers and students access to modern facilities. Our teachers are committed to developing skilled graduates by focusing on the application of education theory in real life situations through work placements, training programs and simulated labs. As a teacher you will have access to the latest technologies and equipment to help students to learn via both guided and immersive real-life experiences. The key responsibility of the role is to deliver quality vocational education and training and conduct competency-based assessments in specified programs in a range of settings including classroom, workplace, and online environments.

 

Travel across our other campuses will be required at times in this role.

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Youth Work (or equivalent or higher qualification)
  • Currently studying (enrolled and actively working towards completing TAE within two years) OR  have a completed Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110) including Design & Develop Assessment tools (TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B) and address Adult language, literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A)


Experience and Knowledge:

  • Possess a high-level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies in a community services discipline
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel etc
  • Understands cultural sensitivity and respects and values difference
  • Can identify language, literacy and numeracy issues
  • Can adapt communication style to suit audience and context
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders
  • Understands the concepts and practices underpinning digital and blended learning and applies as a supplement to the learning program
  • Ability to use digital learning for administrative functions, to communicate, collaborate and for presentations
  • Provision (and maintenance) of current driver's license where relevant
