Remuneration: from $85,644 salary pro-rata – qualification dependant

BKI is seeking a Community Service teacher to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) Department at Bendigo City Campus to teach and inspire the next generation!

You will be working in state-of-the-art facilities, equipped with simulated labs to train professionals within the community sector. Our staff bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to educate and help our students grow.

About The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Community Services Teacher to join our team on a part-time, ongoing basis. As our Community Services Teacher, you will deliver high-quality content at our Bendigo City Campus, providing students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in community services roles. We are seeking educators who value cultural awareness and inclusion, and who can foster a supportive learning environment that respects First Nations perspectives. Experience working with First Nations communities is highly regarded, and we encourage First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) applicants to apply.

 

We are excited about you because you have:

Must have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher VET qualification
  • Diploma of Community Services, Master of Social Work or similar qualification
  • Two years’ work experience in the community services sector
  • Experience working with and supporting First Nations communities (desirable)


Experience and Knowledge:

 

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel etc
  • Has an understanding of cultural sensitivity and respects and values difference
  • Can identify language, literacy and numeracy issues
  • Can adapt communication style to suit audience and context
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders
  • Understands the concepts and practices underpinning digital and blended learning and applies as a supplement to the learning program
  • Ability to use digital learning for administrative functions, to communicate, collaborate and for presentations
  • Provision (and maintenance) of current driver's license where relevant
