Role: Program Lead – Nursing Traineeships

Location: Bendigo, with travel to regional locations and other campuses as required

Role Type: Full-time, ongoing

Remuneration: $138,146.54 per annum plus 12% superannuation

 

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Program Lead to champion excellence in our Nursing Traineeships programme, overseeing delivery across regional locations including Maryborough, Castlemaine, and Echuca, with further expansion planned. This pivotal leadership role provides the opportunity to shape the future of vocational nursing education, while forging strong industry partnerships that directly enhance outcomes for students and healthcare employers.

 

You will be responsible for the management and supervision of a diverse teaching team, supporting up to 300 students across the Institute. The Program Lead will drive programme development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with TAFE structures, VET Quality Standards, and relevant legislation. You will also lead quality audits, manage budgets, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including employers, industry bodies, AHPRA, and ANMAC.

 

Key Focus Areas

  • Leading traineeship program delivery, design, and compliance management
  • Building and maintaining strategic industry partnerships and networks
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance for traineeship programmes and reporting requirements
  • Providing academic leadership in learning design, assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Managing team performance, development, and operational planning

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the coordination, design, development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of vocational education and training programmes
  • Supervise and develop a team of teaching staff, ensuring performance outcomes and professional growth
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, Group Training Organisations, and sector stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with VET Quality Standards, attendance monitoring, and monthly student–teacher contact requirements
  • Oversee program quality through workplace assessment, student progress monitoring, and audit management
  • Lead consultation with stakeholders to design holistic assessment approaches and implement innovative practices
  • Manage budgets and commercial targets, and contribute to new product development and consultancy work
  • Promote team/cluster programs and services to relevant clients and maintain effective industry contacts
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met and support staff and student wellbeing

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent
  • Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50111) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher relevant nursing qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse accreditation via AHPRA
  • Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance

 

Experience:

  • Substantial experience in management and supervision of staff within the health or nursing sector
  • Demonstrated experience with traineeship delivery models, compliance requirements, and e-learning
  • Strong ability to build and maintain industry partnerships and relationships
  • Leadership experience managing teams and driving performance outcomes
  • Understanding of qualification frameworks, unit completion timelines, and workplace learning assessment
  • Familiarity with ANMAC and AHPRA accreditation and reporting requirements
  • Sound knowledge of the VET system, relevant VET qualifications, and industry sectors
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence and flexibility to travel between sites
