Location: Bendigo City Campus
Role Type: Full-time, ongoing
Remuneration: $142k salary plus superannuation

About The Role:

As Program Lead Health – Work-based, you will be a key member of the Industry & Education leadership team, responsible for leading the coordination, design, delivery and continuous improvement of various Health courses at Bendigo Campus. You will provide educational and people leadership to a team of educators, supporting the delivery of high‑quality learning experiences and ensuring strong student outcomes aligned to industry and regulatory expectations.

 

Reporting to the Department Manager, you will oversee program quality, student progress and staff performance, including the preparation of reports and active participation in student meetings and related forums. You will play a key role in the development and ongoing management of timetabling, resource planning and operational delivery, ensuring programs run effectively and efficiently across the academic year. Compliance is central to this role, with responsibility for meeting ASQA standards, relevant legislation, and Bendigo Kangan Institute policies and frameworks.

 

Working collaboratively with other Program Leads across metropolitan and regional locations, you will contribute to consistent, contemporary and responsive program delivery. The role also involves maintaining and fostering strong relationships with placement providers and industry partners, supporting workforce alignment and continuous improvement. Through inclusive leadership and strong collaboration, you will help build a positive, high‑performing team culture and contribute to broader strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives within Health & Community and the wider organisation.

 

We are excited about you because you have:

  • A health-related qualification aligned to the portfolio (e.g. health administration, allied health, individual support or similar), enabling teaching within the program area.
  • A Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification or higher vocational education training qualification
  • Demonstrated people leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead diverse teams in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, vocational education and training environments, with prior TAFE experience regarded as an advantage.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and operational demands.
  • Experience supporting program growth, change and continuous improvement, including working collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive, values led practice
  • Valid working with children’s check and National police check clearance
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations, with a current Victorian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel between campuses as required
