About The Role:
In this impactful teaching role, you’ll be delivering the Certificate in General Education for Adults (CGEA) to learners at Beechworth Correctional Centre, helping them build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication. Your work will directly support the rehabilitation journey of individuals in custody, empowering them with the tools to reintegrate into society and pursue further education or employment.
As part of our dedicated Corrections Education team, you’ll:
- Facilitate engaging and inclusive learning experiences tailored to adult learners with diverse educational backgrounds and needs.
- Apply flexible teaching strategies that accommodate varying literacy levels, learning styles, and behavioural challenges.
- Conduct competency-based assessments aligned with national VET standards, ensuring learners achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with correctional staff and other educators to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
- Promote a culture of growth, resilience, and self-worth among students, helping them develop confidence and life skills that extend beyond the classroom.

- TAE40110 or TAE40116 (incl. TAEASS501 & TAELLN411) or higher VET teaching qualification.
- Relevant vocational qualification or demonstrated competency in the subject area.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Respect for cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable, student-focused teaching approach.
- Confidence using digital tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office).
